Bio Project Update (3/8)

This week in Biology, I researched the specific things each part of the body does. I learned that the eyes are one each side of the rabbits head so the rabbit is able to see nearly 360 degrees around itself. This allows the rabbit to see predators all around it so that it can react quickly and protect itself from the predator. The rabbit also has very acute hearing in order to faint sounds. One cool thing that I learned was that rabbits go up on their hind legs to look for predators and they thump the ground to warn the other rabbits in the area to the threat. The path of my research is leading me to the uses of each rabbit body part and the special ways a rabbit uses them to protect themselves.
One thing that I am having problems with is knowing where to go after I finish with the body parts and their uses. I feel like I need something more to make my project better and more interesting. What else could I add to my presentation to make it better? Can you think of anything else that I can add to my presentation to improve it?

2/25 Biology Research Update

Today in biology I researched the adaptations of rabbits. They have adapted many different ways to protect themselves from predators. I learned that rabbits stand up on their hind legs to search for danger and thump their legs to alert others when danger is near. Rabbits also have many other adaptations like their eyes, long ears, legs, teeth, digestion, fur color and reproduction. A rabbits eyes are on the side of its face so that it has a greater view of the area around them and their ears are long so they can hear the most acute sounds. The rabbits have changed in a lot of ways to protect themselves from predators.

Feb. 18 Biology Research

I learned that the rabbit has a lot of the same bones as the human. However, while they are the same bones they look are very different. Humans bones like the phalanges look a lot differently than the phalanges of the rabbit. The rabbit also has many adaptations like the ears and feet evolution. The rabbit feet make it easier for the rabbit to hop.

Feb. 11 Research, Topic and Goals

The topic I chose is Rabbit Bones vs. Human Bones. 3 goals I have for myself are 1) find good research, 2) plan things out so I know what I still need to do, and 3) find out if bunnies have different or more bones than humans have. Today I found out that rabbits are made up of 23 different bones.

Welcome To My Blog

My name is Danielle Barman. For my first 2 biology projects I researched Navicular Syndrome, a disease that horses get, and Giraffe Adaptations. I like to play volleyball, listening to music and riding my horses. My favorite subject is Algebra and my least favorite is English. My favorite thing to learn about in biology are animals and their relations to other animals.
